Our Evolución

In the Spring of 2002, a group of diverse women gathered together for the purpose of discussing the possibility of bringing a Latina/Multicultural sorority to the University of Tampa. The ladies began intereviewing several different sororities from the University of South Florida. The women then became a multicultural women's organization called the M.A.D.A.M.E.S. (Madames Achieving Desired Accomplishments and Mastering Ethnic Sisterhood) with the intention of one day establishing a multicultural sorority on campus.

At the beginning of the Fall 2002 semester, the number of interested ladies had decreased. The remaining members of M.A.D.A.M.E.S  began the initial process for petitioning for colony status. On September 21, 2002 at 6:06pm the M.A.D.A.M.E.S. became an official colony of Sigma Lambda Gamma. The associate continued to thrive on campus and in the community allowing themselves to become a well-known respectable group of young women. With the assistance of Jocelyn Hassett, Anhkay Pizano, Marisol Quiles, as well as other alumae and members of the Marvelous Mu Chapter at USF.
